I'm with Flannery on this one. I do use writing as a therapeutic tool sometimes, but I usually spare the general public from those rants.

I tried to write fiction once, a short story it was. My editing group was just about to call the cliché police when I conceded,"Okay! I can't make stuff up!" That's not entirely true.

What I can do is draw word pictures with such clarity you can smell them. And I'm a dab hand at spell-checking, invent hyphenated-words infrequently and hardly ever begin sentences with a conjunction.

I can write:

  • letters
  • manuals
  • reports
  • grant applications
  • ad copy
  • media releases
  • profiles: business and personal
  • surveys
  • web content
  • brochures
  • newsletters
